BC Trucking Association Announces Bison Transport as the Newest Certified Clean Carrier

(LANGLEY, Mar 21, 2024) – The BC Trucking Association (BCTA) proudly announces Bison Transport as the latest carrier to achieve certification through the Clean Carrier Program. This program is an eco-certification initiative that recognizes and promotes environmentally responsible practices in the trucking industry. The Clean Carrier Program is developed by BCTA and its Advisory Committee to reward carriers for implementing sustainable practices which reduce emissions, conserve resources, and promote environmental stewardship.

To achieve certification, carriers undergo a rigorous assessment process that evaluates their operations, including fuel efficiency, emissions reduction strategies, and fuel management practices. Bison Transport, a leading Canadian transportation company, has joined the ranks of certified Clean Carriers with its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint. With a fleet of over 3,000 tractors and 10,000 trailers and containers, Bison Transport is committed to leading by example in the industry.

Darwin Hudson, Senior Fuel Projects Coordinator at Bison Transport, stated, “Bison Transport recognizes the importance of reducing emissions and minimizing our environmental impact. The Clean Carrier Program provided us with a structured framework to assess our operations and identify areas for improvement. Bison is proud to be certified as a Clean Carrier and look forward to continuing our sustainability journey.”

The Clean Carrier Program offers many benefits for carriers, including recognition for their environmental leadership, access to resources, and increased market opportunities. By participating in the program, carriers demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, differentiate themselves in the marketplace, and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the trucking industry and beyond.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bison Transport to the Clean Carrier family,” said Dave Earle, President and CEO at BCTA. “Their commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with the goals of the program, and we commend Bison’s efforts to prioritize environmental stewardship.”
